Zepp Tokyo

Wow. I can't hear, I have bruises all over, my clothes from last night are still drenched in sweat, and my head is killing me. All the signs of a good time in Japan.

I'll keep this brief because reading this small text is only aggravating my hangover.

Insolence and 10-FEET killed it, I have never seen a crowd of 3000 (this is the number band management gave me) go so crazy. Even when crowd surfing, the Japanese are the pinnacle of efficiency. It looked like a 20 lane mega freeway, only with tumbling humans moving straight to the front of the venue. The only problem was this one gaijin camera man who decided to place himself at the front of the stage for a few shots. Hence all the bruises. I was a bit jealous of 10-FEET's camera crew, all 100 of them including support crew. With their 50 foot jib arms and remote controlled camera systems (pictured above), but I didn't see any of them at the after party! Nor did I see any of them with cans of Asahi slung in their grip belts as I was. I even tried to by one of my fellow camera operators a beer and he turned it down.

Other than the camera envy I was suffering from, I myself got a ton of great footage. I can't wait to start cutting. One of the best moments, for footage and shear enjoyment, came after the show ended. Insolence, myself, and a few bottles of whiskey headed to venues exit. I saw an... unattended mega phone that the Zepp staff use to herd the crowd around, and promptly suggested we use it for advertising purposes. What followed was a mob scene of impromptu free style rap battles over the megaphone, funky beat boxing, and general mayhem. I don't think the crowd was ready to run into a 2nd booze fueled Insolence concert outside the venue. Many autographs, hand shakes, and hugs were given. Even I got in on the action, signed a few of the DVDs I produced for Insolence last summer. Yeah... I'm big in Japan.

Insolence rejoins 10-FEET in Osaka and Nagoya in the next few days. Takuma, Naoki, and Kouichi were all super cool to hang with, I'm looking forward to it.

Back to bed.
