Well Hello

Photobucket

Ok ok, so I realize that it has been far too long since any of us has put something down on this blog. The reason being, well we are just out enjoying Japan. Since the last thoughts we have seen Insolence depart from Japan leaving us on our own. We have traveled to Hiroshima, which it was pissing rain the whole time so we were unable to actually go out and see any sights. And currently we are in Nagasaki, the second of the two sites where American dropped a bomb. Yesterday was spent walking around the city, just kind of roaming. It was peaceful. Nagasaki sits right on the bay and is the main exporter of Mitsubishi automobiles and other Mitsubishi products. So we hit a nice park by the water, walked around some neighborhoods and found a stairway that took us up above the city with a beautiful view of the surrounding area.

Today was spent mostly at the site where the bomb detonated above Nagasaki. There is a museum along with multiple shrines and monuments documenting the tradity that happened. It absolutely blows you away with the information, pictures and testimonials from individuals who were present on that day. It puts things in retrospect not to mention is mentally exhausting, so we decided to head back down to the waterfront to just lay on the cut grass. All of us ended up lying down and just passing out, but again, extremely peaceful. Tonight we are going to head to a bar listed in one of the books Scott has for tourist. We tried to find it last night but only came across a bunch of very pricey bars as well as the red light district. That didn’t seem to be the place for us so we headed back down towards the hotel and came across a bar called “Crazy Horse”. Total dive bar with the owner and friends singing popular classic American songs by Foghat, Lynard Skynard and The Doors. The smoke was too much for our eyes and lungs to handle so we just took off early. Along with going out tonight we need to at some time find out where we are heading tomorrow, as well as do some laundry. I’m not saying we smell, but I think “ripe” is the correct word.

I had started writing a blog yesterday but when I went to post it, it was lost and I didn’t feel like starting it all over again. So I will simply recap the best I can what it was about.

First night in Japan we went to a bar, saw Japanese guy outside in his business suit laying drunk in a puddle. Then his friend tried to help out along with some stranger and it ended with the stranger and the friend getting into a kung fu fight. You might think that I’m just blowin smoke, but oh no, an actual kung fu fight. Which solidifies the fact that if any of us get in a fight, we are screwed or we had better grab a bar stool. The rooms are large closets at best with the bathrooms being standing room only. Both Dave and I are depending on Scott to translate for us but quick into conversations we realize that Scott knows 10 phrases and we are idiots.

Other than that I will try to think of some more things along with adding what we are up to each day. As for now, I need a shower and some food. Adios for now everyone, and enjoy the pictures.
